Designing for Activism

Monday / September 21 / 7:00 PM

Description

There’s no denying it: we are in a moment of profound, societal change. Positive change, driven by people and movements. Art and design have always played a role in efforts to elevate marginalized voices and make the world more just. From signs to murals to social graphics, there are people who help to spread the word and offer a rallying cry through design. Don’t miss out on this chance to learn about what designing for activism looks like today – in our city and in this moment – and how design helps movements succeed.

During this panel, we’ll hear from local artists and designers — Trap Bob, Divorce Culture, and Ignacio Joseph Orzal — who use different creative media to champion activism in their communities. You’ve seen their work around the city, and now’s your chance to hear from them. And don’t worry — we may be virtual, but you’ll still have a chance to get your questions answered by our great speakers.
